The Colorado Local Progressive Candidate Training Program is designed to prepare individuals who are planning or considering to run for an elected office in the near or distant future. This training program also provides important insights and direction for individuals who are or will be serving as a campaign manager.

This training program provides the nuts and bolts of putting together a successful campaign for a local elected position, as well as the fundamentals for implementing progressive policies through elected office. The training is designed for both candidates and campaign managers.

The Colorado Local Progressive Candidate Training Program has been sponsored in the past by the Center for Progressive Leadership, the White House Project, and the Colorado Education Association.

Topics will include:

  • Campaign Planning
  • Fundraising
  • Messaging
  • Targeting
  • Volunteer Management

If you're interested in information on the next training, including the potential dates and location, email CPL's Program Director Emily Shamsid-Deen.

There is a minimal fee for the program; however, CPL always has a small number of scholarships available for participants.
