The Colorado Local Progressive Candidate Training Program is designed to prepare individuals who are planning or considering to run for an elected office in the near or distant future.  This training program also provides important insights and direction for individuals who are or will be serving as a campaign manager.


This five-part comprehensive training program provides the nuts and bolts of putting together a successful campaign for a local elected position, as well as the fundamentals for implementing progressive policies through elected office. The training is designed for both candidates and campaign managers.


The Colorado Local Progressive Candidate Training Program has been sponsored in the past by the Center for Progressive Leadership, the White House Project, and the Colorado Education Association.

The components of the Colorado Local Progressive Candidate Training Program include:

  • Message Development and Delivery
  • Voter Contact
  • Panel Discussion with Elected Officials
  • and more!

Note: Individuals registering for this program may not have already filed to run for office.


Dates, Places and Rates


There are five workshops held over the course of four weekends.  Participants are expected to coordinate their schedules to ensure their participation in all of the workshops. 

The workshop locations will be held in the Denver metro area and in northern Colorado. Specific locations TBA.


There is a $100 fee for this training program.  The fee helps cover the costs of training, meals and materials. There are limited scholarships available, based on need and by request.

 

The 2010 dates are:

  • Saturday, March 13th
  • Sunday, March 14th
  • Saturday, March 27th
  • Saturday, April 17th and
  • Saturday, May 1st

 

The application deadline is Friday, February 19th.
